Imagine if you were chosen along with a random handful of humans from all walks of life to recreate a new world from scratch. You could take what you have learnt from humanity’s errors so far and use them to lay the foundations of a world that could supersede said errors. A fresh start, a blank page, tabula rasa. What kind of choices would you make for the new world?
How we are able to better the world is unique to each of us, based on our own circumstances as well as the environment within which we find our lives taking place. We may choose to contribute with our skills, our time, our money or our energy. We may choose to contribute in big ways: engaging in activism, becoming a long-term volunteer overseas, protesting against coal mines or deforestation.
Or, we might choose to contribute in smaller ways: by volunteering in soup kitchens in our neighbourhood, working in community gardens, inviting our immigrant neighbours over for dinner and so on. During this session we will inspire you on how to contribute to change!
